The major aim of this program is to introduce students to research in Cell Biology. They must acquire good skills for education and training of undergraduate students before finishing their studies.

In our program, we initiate the student in the understanding of the structure, internal organization and function of the cell, the mechanisms of interaction between cells, and between cells and their environment. In addition, the student will learn how to analyze the function of intracellular components and also diverse functional processes in which they participate. Another goal is to learn state-of-the-art techniques used in the study of cells (i.e. biochemical, molecular, and immunological techniques, among others) and to develop an increasing interest in research in Cell Biology.

All students obtain a broad knowledge and training in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Developmental Biology and Biochemistry. They can specialize in a field of Cell Biology chosen by themselves, and carry out their experimental work in the laboratories.

The Master of Science Program has a terminal efficiency ranging from 75% to 100%. Students earn their MSc degree in an average of 2.0 years, according to the requirements established by CONACyT.
