The student will receive a broad training in Cell Biology that will allow him understand and integrate knowledge about cell components and cellular mechanisms. After finishing his graduate studies, the student must be able to apply his new skills to propose new research projects and to establish research fields for his own development. He will be capable to contribute with new knowledge, and collaborate with top scientists in his field of interest as well. He must have a critical point of view regarding interpretation and discussion of research results.

The main objective of the Program is the training of high-quality human resources for research in Cell Biology. It is intended that graduates of the Ph.D. program gain intellectual and experimental skills to develop, original, independent, and competitive research.

After finishing the Ph.D. program, students might continue training as postdoctoral students in Mexico or in institutions from other countries, and become part of academic research groups in national or international universities or research institutions as well. They also might develop biotechnological processes, vaccines or other high-impact technologies in society and industry.
